2 Kings 5:10, “Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” (NIV)

Please read verses 1 through 19 for context. Oftentimes, when we’re seeking a deliverance from God, His command to us doesn’t make sense. Logically, we think we can come up with a better resolution to our prayers, but with our limited purview we should know that is not true. When I feel as if God is giving me direction and it doesn’t make sense to me, I must remind myself of Charles Stanley’s quote, “Obey God and leave the consequences to Him.” God’s ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9), when He gives us a directive it is based on His omniscience. Always keep in mind the promises of God, He will bless you with more than you could ever imagine or think (Ephesians 3:20). As Christians, do we trust God enough to obey Him? Today, we will ask God to help us obey Him when we don’t understand.

What has He been prompting you to do that you haven’t done yet? Are you causing the delay in your life to receive the blessing God has for you? Obeying the Lord is worth it in the end.

Dear Father, help me to trust You more in every detail of my life. You know everything, and You know what is best for me. Please help me to remember that I don’t know better than You, and that it’s in my favor to obey You no matter what. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
