Proverbs 16:9, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” (NIV)
Everything happens at the perfect time when it’s on God’s timing. We often wonder why things happen to us when they happen. Things we long for, things we desire, but when they happen later than expected, we’re either excited or confused. When you’re a child of God, count everything that happens in your life as a blessing, because when you’re on God’s time it’s the right time when He deems it should be happening. There’s nothing we go through that doesn’t first have to pass through the hands of God.
So, when you think you’re getting married “late” by social standards, for God it’s right on time. When you think you’re graduating college “late” by social standards, for the course God has you on in life, it’s right on time. God is an on-time God, don’t ever forget that. Enjoy the present knowing that your future is in His hands. He will never forsake you and stays true to His word. Meditate on these verses today, Jeremiah 29:11-13:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart
Dear Father, when I’m tempted to give up or be discouraged, help me to remember that whatever I am waiting on, You will deliver on time. Help me to learn and wait well on You. Help me to enjoy the process, knowing the outcome will be great, especially when I leave it in Your hands. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
