Solomon 2:15, “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.”

What are these foxes that Solomon writes of? The message here is two-fold, the foxes that aim to ruin our relationships through distraction, division, dissension, or the foxes meaning the sins in our lives that keep our relationships or spiritual lives from growing. Listen, the devil doesn’t want you to succeed in this life because he’s already lost, and he wants you to join his team. He wants to destroy the godly relationships in your life by causing you to question your friend and spouse’s loyalty. He doesn’t care if you attend church, but what causes him to lose a grip on you is when the Word of God from the sermon pierces your heart and convicts you to change, he can’t have you giving up that sin he has you entangled in. The sin of pride, unforgiveness, hatred, lying, cheating, etc. So, what does the devil do? He causes you to be distracted in church by notifications on your phone. When you’re home and want to spend time with God, he deters your interest to watch that episode you missed of Power (or whatever it is that you really love). When you and your spouse are growing in the faith and love together, he sends a jezebel spirit to throw one of you off track. Recognize the schemes of the enemy, the little foxes he sends your way to ruin your vineyard – his tactics have never changed. Ask God for His Spirit of wisdom and discernment to overcome the temptations of the enemy. The devil’s intentions are to steal, kill and destroy you, but Jesus Christ has come to give you abundant life (John 10:10).

Dear Father, help me to recognize the foxes in my life aiming to destroy what You are doing in, through and around me. Break every stronghold in my life that is keeping me from growing spiritually. Give me Your mind and eyes to recognize the tactics of the enemy and the power of Your Spirit to resist him. As Your Word says, resist the devil and he will flee from you. I have already won the fight, in Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
