Highlighting – “…may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (v.18-19)
The love of Christ for us is so great that it surpasses knowledge. I’m thankful for this love because through it He was willing to pay the penalty of sin for all of mankind. Due to Adam, we were once dead in our trespasses, now we are made alive in the belief, acceptance and confession of Jesus Christ as the Son of God (Romans 10:9-11). To add to it, we did absolutely nothing and could do nothing to have earned this gift called salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). Thank You Lord!
While Christ’s love surpasses knowledge that doesn’t mean we can’t come to some sort of understanding of what it is and how to emulate it. The more we read God’s Word, and apply His teachings to our lives, the more we will abide in Christ, and His attributes will become ours (Ephesians 5:1-2; John 15:4-9). If you’ve already accepted Christ into your heart, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you to help you become more like Christ every day (John 7:38-39; 14:16-17; 16:13 ; Ephesians 3:16).
Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, if you haven’t already, you’ll receive the free gift of eternal life with Him in Heaven! It really can’t get any better than that. 🙂
Dear God, thank You for sending Your only Son to die on the cross for me. Unworthy as I am, and unfaithful as I am, You continue to show Your unconditional love for me and for that alone You are worthy of all praise! Please help me to appreciate this love You have for me. May I fall in love with You more every day from reading Your Word. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
