Psalm 34:9 – 10

Highlighting – “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” (v. 10)

Today’s text is great because the verses serve as a reminder that when we fear (reverence) and love God, we are promised a good life. It isn’t to say that we will not encounter difficulty, but because of our desire for Him, God will not withhold any good thing from us. This verse gives us the key to unlock blessings – seek the Lord. When you “seek” something, you’re pursuing it, going after it to attain whatever it is. God most desires that we would seek a relationship with Him. This is similar to Psalm 37 verse 4 which says, “take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”. The more we desire Him, the more we commune with Him, the more we will become like Him, the more our desires change to fit His will for us…and the more blessed we are daily.

Now that we know the secret to unlocking blessings in our lives, let’s be more diligent and intentional in our Bible study and prayer lives. The joy that we will have when we pursue Him with all our mind, body, heart and soul will be unmatched (Deuteronomy 4:29; Jeremiah 29:13). May we fall more in love with God daily.

Dear Father, help me to desire You more each and every day. I realize chasing after You is beyond worth it and in You I will lack no good thing for eternity. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
