1 Corinthians 15:9-10, “9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” (NIV)
The grace of God is powerful and transformative. In these verses, Paul mentions how he once persecuted the church of God, but God’s grace shown to Paul changed him. This grace that God demonstrated to Paul was his encounter with Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). Paul was given a second chance to receive eternal life through faith in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This encounter made Paul the apostle we speak of so often today. He wrote many letters to the churches, that today, keep us encouraged in the faith. God’s grace is in abundance right now for you and me, not for us to take advantage, but to live in righteousness and develop our relationship with Him (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 2:4, 6:14). God’s grace is intended to lead us to repentance.
I want to remind you that there is no sin that God cannot redeem you from, as apostle Paul, formerly Saul of Tarsus. Today, are you willing to surrender yourself completely to Him? Repent from the heart, turn your back to sin and run towards God (Acts 3:19). If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the opportunity for you to encounter Jesus is right now, He is ready to enter your heart if you will receive Him.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
Dear Father, thank You for Your grace. If it wasn’t for Your love, where would I be? Help me to surrender to Your Spirit at work in me, aiming to transform me into Christ-likeness. I desire to bear fruit of Your Spirit. May I never take Your grace for granted. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
