Matthew 27:45 – 54

Highlighting – “So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!” (v.54)

We Christians must remember to continuously praise and worship God for our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was both God and Man fighting the good fight of healing and calling all people to receive salvation through faith in Him. While our soldiers today aim to protect our nation in the natural realm, we have the Almighty Jesus Christ who fought and continues to fight the spiritual battle on our behalf to give us eternal protection (1 Peter 2:24). What a Mighty God we serve who has sent His only Son to save us! Jesus paid our sin debt in full through death on the cross, then was placed in a tomb and resurrected three days later (1 Cor 15:3-4). Even the grave could not hold Jesus Christ back! He is worthy to be praised!

Today, take a moment to speak to your God and thank Him for His Son, Jesus Christ, our risen Savior – dedicate real time to this. When we think about all the suffering He endured all the way to death on the cross, and He still forgave mankind, we must be willing to give our lives back to Him for all that He has done (Luke 23:34; Phil 1:21). I pray you will make this commitment today, if you haven’t already.

Dear Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross and cleanse me of my sins. You have given me the best gift for life, salvation through faith in Your Son. Please help me to die to my flesh daily so that I may live a life pleasing to You as Christ did when He was on earth. I praise Your name for Your grace towards me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
