1 John 4:4, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (NIV)

This verse is a great reminder for us, children of God, to not fear what is happening outside of us because the God who lives inside of us is greater than any devil, difficulty, obstacle or hindrance. No matter the circumstance, remember that God is bigger and it’s under His control – we can trust Him. Even when the devil wanted to persecute Job, he had to receive permission from God, and God gave him limitations (Job 1:6-12). Whatever the outcome of our current situation, it will be for our good (Romans 8:28).

The Word of God helps us understand who He is. The enemy knows we’ll grow spiritually and our faith in God will develop the more we read our Bibles, and as His promises are etched into our hearts. My encouragement to anyone reading today is that God lives in you and He will give you the power and victory over what you’re going through, just make sure you’re submitting to His Spirit and not your flesh (Galatians 5:16; Romans 8:9-11).

Dear Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You because You haven’t and never will forsake me. Help me to trust in You and remember the promises in Your Word. I already have the victory over whatever I’m going through because of Your Spirit at work in me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
