Psalm 84:11, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”

This verse is so comforting. I remember the first time I ever read it, I was going through a tough time, and it brought me solace to know that some things I lost in life was because it wasn’t good for me. The promise in this verse is that God does not withhold any good thing from those whose walk is blameless. So, if you’re in love with God, faithful in your service to Him and others, seeking His righteousness and Kingdom first, He will not keep anything from you that is good. Sometimes it’s hard for us to accept and wrap our heads around, but if anything is removed from your life that you didn’t expect to be taken away, it might just be that it wasn’t good for you. There are many reasons why you can lose something, today, we are discussing when that thing just isn’t what God deems “good for you”. Meaning, sometimes things are good in general, but they just aren’t His good for you, specifically.

It’s easier said than done, but if you’re a believer and servant of God, you must trust that whatever you’re going through God is working all things together for your good and He will not keep anything from you that He knows is beneficial for you.

Dear Father, thank You for not giving me the things I think I want, but what You know I need. Thank You for not keeping anything from me that is good. Help me to see things as You do and accept what Your will is for my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
