Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (NIV)

2. Faith leads to believing that God is who He claims to be so we trust in Him

As we read our Bibles and learn more of God’s character, we come to believe that He is who He says He is. Number one, that God is not man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). Secondly, that He remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, and does not change as shifting shadows (James 1:17). Our faith grows in Him knowing His word and promises never fail (Isaiah 55:10-11). If we do not have faith in God, then we don’t trust Him or believe what He says to be true.

Exercising your faith by reading the Word, believing in His promises in the Bible, praying, and trusting that God hears you, is what God desires of us. Faith is so difficult to build, yet Jesus tells us, if we would only have the faith of a mustard seed, the mighty things that would come to pass (Matthew 17:20).

Anyone who does not believe and trust God’s word is displeasing to Him because they ultimately won’t obey Him. Do you trust Him today? In whatever situation you’re in, do you believe that God is working behind the scenes to deliver you?

Dear Father, I believe that You are who You say You are, and that Your promises never fail. Lord, help me to put my full trust in You. Thank You for never forsaking me. Help me to not reject You while I wait on You to perform a miracle in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
